Ellerbe: “We’re refusing to put our guy [Mayweather] in there without it” [Pacquiao's drug test]
By Anthony Cain: Floyd Mayweather’s adviser Leonard Ellerbe is adamant about World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao needing to take the Olympic style random drug test that his team are requesting or else Mayweather Jr won’t take the fight with Pacquiao. In an article with Mlive, Ellerbe said “We’re insisting this take place. We’re refusing to put our guy [Mayweather] in there without it. The sticking point appears to be Pacquiao’s reluctance to take the blood test up to the weigh-in for the fight. Read the rest of this entry »
Why Mayweather will beat Pacquiao
By Chris Stein: There are various reasons why Floyd Mayweather Jr. will beat World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao on March 13th. Perhaps the most obvious reason that Mayweather will beat Pacquiao is because of Manny’s wild flailing style of fighting. Pacquiao throws punches often like an amateur, rushing forward and throwing punches with both hands in a piston-like fashion as he runs forward. It looks very amateurish, but it’s successful somehow, maybe because most professional fighters that have gotten to the level that Mayweather is at aren’t used to fighting opponents that punch like Pacquiao. Bradley might up a sparring partner for Pacquiao
By Manuel Perez: If trainer Freddie Roach has his way, World Boxing Organization light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley could end up as one of the main sparring partners for Manny Pacquiao to help him prepare for his fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. I really feel sorry for Pacquiao if Bradley winds up in training camp with him. This guy is the best in the entire division, maybe even better than Pacquiao. Roach is also trying to get WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto as another sparring partner for Pacquiao. Mayweather is impossible to knockout: Manny can’t win by decision
By Manuel Perez: It’s too bad that Manny Pacquiao doesn’t have good boxing skills, because he sure won’t be knocking Floyd Mayweather Jr. out on March 13th. Everyone knows that Mayweather can’t be knocked out, and if you can’t knock him out, then there’s no chance that he can be beaten. No one is crazy enough to think that Pacquiao will be good enough to outbox Mayweather for 12 rounds. Read the rest of this entry »
Mayweather vs. Pacquiao: Will Manny continue fighting if he wins?
By Stephen Espinosa: Not too much has been said about what will happen with World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao should he beat Floyd Mayweather Jr. on March 13th, at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada. There’s been a lot of talk about this being Pacquiao’s last fight before retirement, and that he plans on becoming a politician in his native country of the Philippines. Read the rest of this entry »
Mayweather vs. Pacquiao to take place at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas
By Harold Kupelle: The location of the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao mega bout has finally been chosen tonight, with the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada, getting the nod over the Dallas Cowboy Stadium. It came down to the MGM Grand making the better offer, putting out $30 million compared to the $25 million offered by Jerry Jones, the owner of the Cowboys. As of now, the negotiations are still underway at this moment. The location will work lout much better for fans and for boxers, because gambling is legal in Vegas, and having the fight take place there will generate even more money for the fight.
Mayweather-Pacquiao: Floyd is going to carve Manny up
By Manny Perez: Every fighter has a point in their career where they finally take a step too far in their and end up taking a beating or two. Thus far, World Boxing Association welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao has failed three times in his career when taking big challenges. Well, on March 13th, it looks as if it’s going to be the fourth and final failure of Pacquiao’s career when he takes on unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr. Read the rest of this entry »
Judah to be sparring partner for Mayweather
By Chris Stein: Floyd Mayweather Jr. plans on using his old nemesis Zab Judah as one of his sparring partners to prepare for his March 13th bout against World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, according to Gma news. Mayweather, 32, previously beat Judah by a 12 round decision three years ago in April 2006. What makes Judah so appealing for Mayweather is two things: Read the rest of this entry »

By Harold Kupelle The formal announcement of the March 13th of the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao bout could come as early as January 5th or 6th, says trainer Freddie Roach. Roach talks Mayweather-Pacquiao
By Chris Stein: Freddie Roach, the trainer for Manny Pacquiao, doesn’t believe that the March 13th bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao will be taking place in Texas. In an article with the Examiner, Roach said “No way Mayweather is going to Texas. It is a Vegas fight the way I see it. Texas has had some bad decisions.” Roach is probably talking about the first fight between Juan Diaz and Paulie Malignaggi, a fight in which Diaz, fighting in front of his home crowd, won a 12 round decision over Malignaggi.
